My Learnings Part 2

Welcome back…. Hope you enjoy part 2 as much as you enjoyed part 1.
Happy Reading !

Cooking Breakfast & Lunch : I love cooking breakfast for my family and I try to cook according to their needs.
So I cook breakfast twice a week on Mondays and Tuesdays. And lunch on Sundays.
When I was growing up my favourite chef was my dad as he cooked anything and everything for my mom and for me. I try cooking like him, someday I shall be as good as him!

I have been cooking with my grandmother as she always encourages me to cook. As a kid I used to join her in the kitchen , and she would let me roll chappatis or stir a vegetable cooking. So my dad and my grandma are my inspiration for learning to cook better everyday.
Now I can :

  • Bake a Thums-up Cake all by myself from scratch
  • Make aloo parathas (yes I am a sardar and I love my parathas!!)
  • Make nice round dosa, with the aloo and coconut chutney(from scratch)
  • Make chocolates (I have attended a workshop )
  • Sandwiches and egg rolls
  • Maggie noddles with loads of veggies
  • Lady finger (fill them up is hardwork, I cut them round)
  • Tea and coffee both hot and cold
  • Spanish omelette (my own version)
  • Butter chicken (with readymade masala)
  • Chicken masala (with readymade masala)

I always have my grandmother as my recipe book and I always succeed if I am cooking with my recipe book. After breakfast I clear up the table and after dinner i have to clean the kithen and rinse all the plates and that’s never an option!
There are many more dishes I would like to learn from my grandma.

Reading time:
I usually read adventure and action novels. I started reading at a very young age. According to me reading should be included in everyday life of every child.
As a young boy mom read to me and now I believe that, every time we pick up a book, it always increases our vocabulary. As a kid I remember writing stories very often.
But as I was growing up, I stopped reading or writing because I was always busy with school. My vocabulary has not only gone down, but now it’s also difficult for me to read at a stretch like I did when I was a kid.

But I am back to reading and writing my stories, I like writing stories as I can express everything in detail.
I hope someday I can write a book.

Attending training sessions with mom:
So I am a home-schooler and I like going to college? Ha ha… Well attending the sessions was not an option I was given. I didn’t know what to expect first, but now I look forward to the sessions.

I learn many a things I have issues with in mom’s training sessions, like being Assertive, communication skills etc.,
At times I am mom’s assistant, taking videos and clicking picture. Other times I am a part of the activities played in the session and sometimes I just watch the activities done by the students.
I learn from everything.

The best part is that I visited the School of Engineering on the campus where the students were making drones for their fest. I spoke with the head of the department and he has agreed to help with the coding of my drone.
And there came up my next project – Building a Drone from scratch.

As much as I love the college life I see and mom keeps asking me if I would like to join a college, I fear of rote learning and the exams that will again decided my intelligence level.

The engineering students I spoke with said that engineering was really difficult and that rote learning was how they learnt. There is hands-on learning but it’s not how you are assessed.
This scares me, I don’t know if I will ever be ready for these kind of exams.

Learning is a never ending process…. so see you around as I learn new  things !
